It's been a long journey, but I feel like I finally settled on my New Style of Caricatures. I drew these in my time off ~ with some old dried out Chartpak that I had here. And a few Color Sticks.

I think of this style as 3D. I refer to my old style as Cartoony. One is not better than the other. They are just Different.

My new 3D style isn't as difficult for me to do. It uses the same interpretive skills as my Cartoony style. and I can draw my vision directly, without extra steps. And I feel like more customers would be more impressed with the 3D style. So why not relax and really Enjoy doing my work ~ I hope it feels this easy when I'm drawing in person at an event.

BTW, I surfed the web to find pictures of faces for my reference photos. The first picture here was one of those Wow experiences for me. Because i felt like it was the very face that had super-intrigued me when I was a child ~ on the cover of a National Geographic Magazine. I had kept that magazine around for years because of those haunting eyes. And then, here, out of the blue, it was looking right at me again. Never read the article, though. I just looked at the cover of the magazine for many years.

It always looks to me like my Party Guests are so together. Having fun together. Comfortable with each other.

Could it be that everyone else gets along so harmoniously with their husbands/wives/friends? Could it be that everyone else is appreciated and accepted by their husbands/wives/friends?

So it's interesting to me that I frequently get comments from those guests in which they say that they can tell that I (the Artist) am having such a good time. Because I do feel very happy in that activity of drawing in front of people. But it goes on top of all sorts of other feelings that I might be having inside. Since they wouldn't see all of me, perhaps I'm not really seeing all of them either. Maybe everyone has stuff to deal with?

just relaxing here after this evening's Clown Alley meeting. Thinking 3D as I drew this picture ~ got to remember to do that. Funny how I can indicate dimensionality just by thinking it ~ not having to determine a light-source and do all that shading that I had originally learned. Party Art must be developed in such a way that it wouldn't be Tedious.

I miss the people from this Party. I know I drew a whole lot of them. Even joining them at the one long table in the small restaurant when that worked better for this Party. I remember drawing the guest of honor with his wife ~ the Caricature came out great ~ mostly affected by his magnificent beard. And I remember drawing the girl who was at the Party as a newlywed ~ she looked so happy. And and.....

But that was several months ago. I had put the photos on my Computer's desktop, planning on uploading them to this website. But then I got sidetracked onto the activities of the day. And the next day. And the next. Had to handle the Parties and Agents and Studio Pieces that I promised. And now. finally having a moment to get back to this project, I can't find the rest of the pictures from this Party.

I do hope I find them. And I hope I remember that I already posted these three. So I can remember all the wonderful people that came through my life:

I feel like I have thousands of pictures here that haven't gotten posted yet. It's exciting for me to open these unopened folders. It's exciting for me to remember the people, to remember the events, perhaps an interaction or a personality. I feel ungrounded if I lose even one of my pictures.
