My work recently took me out of town ~ I was staying at the Tradewinds Resort in St Pete Beach in FL. Real nice place. If I had the time to Vacation, this would have been a perfect place. On the beach. With so many activities right in the hotel.
But what I really wanted to note here was the Artwork in the Guest Rooms. I had been raised to believe I'd find some mass produced junk on hotel walls, so I was really blown away by the quality of the Artwork in my room. Vibrant. Painterly. Expressive. Immediate.

The Agent's job is different than the Artist's job.
I just realized that my Agent probably has to jump through hoops to find his 'big' clients.
I, on the other hand, do the same things for any people.
One particular Agent has sent me to draw for high ranking executives of
American Express/Momentum Worldwide,
the cast of Camp Rock,
Harry Winston Diamonds,
and National Geographic,
Marc by Marc Jacobs
to name a few.
It must be very difficult to be 'found' by the people who are at the top of big corporations, so this Agent must be doing work that I don't even know exists.
Not having done anything different about getting such big clients, I don't feel differently about those jobs. I'm always trying to entertain as well as possible. Always trying to sign drawings that I would be proud of. Always interested in the unique person who stops in my path for a few precious moments.
I want to take this moment to give kudos to the people that make it possible for me to get in to places that might not otherwise have been open to me.
