Just messing around in the Studio tonight. Drawing a Caricature based on a random Woman's photo. Changing my approach, I finally came up with a good one

So let's see where all this lip studying has brought me. I drew this Caricature tonight based on a random photo.

I see improvement caused by the studies from last night. I like the line quality and understanding.

But I do have to say that I paused, and gave it extra time to concentrate on applying my studies. Just a few moments, but it feels like I wouldn't allow that extra time to myself at an Event.

I figure that if I practice it enough in my Studio, it will come out automatically when I'm hired to draw at Parties.

then...... I printed out several copieS of this linework, and I imagined different types of lighting onto them

I'll be drawing Caricatures at a 1-year-old's Party this Weekend. So I figured I'd look at some Anime for inspiration. Not that I would be drawing Anime. Actually, not sure How it would be affecting me. I just figure that Anime has a lot of Big Eyes that people like for their Babies.

Then I drew some random Baby faces just anywhere on the page. The first Caricature was still inspired by the Anime I looked at. I imposed those big oval Eyes onto the face, and it worked.

But it felt uncomfortable to just draw the same eyes for each baby. And the 2nd Caricature that I drew really didn't lend itself to that eye-shape. It still came out good, still looked like it was inspired by Anime.

Then there wasn't really any room left on the paper, but I wanted to draw more. I drew 2 more babies (small), and I dropped my Anime idea. It's a good idea, but it loses its appeal if I feel like I have to impose a standard Anime face onto each Baby. Babies, like all people, have all sorts of expressions and uniques.

I feel like it was good to expose myself to Anime. It might or might not affect my drawings.

Earlier today (while I was Not drawing), I figured it out. Well..... I Felt like I had figured it out. I felt like I had finally figured out how to easily switch from the Basic Simple Caricatures that Some Guests prefer to the Exaggerated Caricatures that more artistially evolbed Guests know how to appreciate.

So I planned on drawing a bunch of them tonight. Based on old photos from my website. But I only got to One. Because the first one caused a glitch in my neat little 'answer'.

First I drew it Simply. Good. Easy. I didn't fuss about it.

Then I felt surprised that I totally bombed on the Exaggerated #Caricature. That's my Thing. Exaggeration. That's the style which defines me as a real Artist. No time for disappointment. I just tried it again.

Tried it again. The Exaggerated Caricature. Again, I felt surprised that it didn't delight me the way my Exaggerated #Party Caricatures were delighting me at this week's #Events. But in a pinch, I would have been able to use this Caricature at an #Event. Especially if I added Color.

Then I drew it even again even. That one came out good, but I felt surprised that it needed a mediumly extensive Predraw. Because it had felt so easy to draw Exaggerated Caricatures at this Week's previous Events.

I wish I had time to do more of these now. Maybe some other day ~ ~ ~
