National Library Day. I think that's why there's all sorts of
Entertainment at this yearly Library gig. Here are some
pictures I drew this year.
Interesting to note the photography in the first picture.
At first, I had forgotten to turn so my subject wouldn't
be standing in front of a window - Backlit! You can see
here how difficult it is to see a face that is photographed
in front of a window.
The same thing happens about just seeing the face to
draw. What can be fine lighting for talking
might not be reasonable for drawinng (easily fixed
if we just turn on the lights):

Here are photos of some of the Caricatures that I drew at
a recent Party. It's a good thing I brought my lights - it was
way too dark for drawing. Still, as you can see by these Photos,
the atmosphere does affect pictures. They were taken with
the same camera-phone that I've been using this year, but
they're fuzzy and 'colored' bcause of the poor lighting conditions.
The 13-year-old's Party was held in a bar. The room was dark.
The music was so Loud that I was still in a different state of
existence when I got home. The kids had a lot of Fun! They
were so happy - dressed up and chatting animatedly. And
the same question came up that I think often after Parties
like these. I wonder Whether we're putting the kids into
these roles (teaching them what to admire and how to
behave), Or whether this is the way 13-year-olds want
to 'play' (party).
