It's time to get myself in gear. I will have to draw Fast at tomorrow's Event. Huge place with thousands of people. I can't be trying to redevelop myself. I won't have time to reinvent the wheel.

So it's back to the way I have been successfully drawing at Events already. And we'll see if my recent Cartoony studies might affect some of them.

To warm up, I redrew a few of the Caricatures that I previously drew at Events. And I even looked up The Dark Knight online ~ Not that I would ever use a different artist's character at an event ~ but I felt like I should familiarize myself with him. Because of some of the things that I had been told about tomorrow's event.

Note: as always, if I draw more than one face in a Caricature, it doesn't necessarily mean that the people know each other. I pick them at random.

Well..... that's being a little facetious (a word that I learned when studying for my SAT's)..... but it sounded right tonight. Because I'm not sure if I was practicing the new style that I have been developing for the past week, Or if I was just finally able to draw what I used to try to draw back when I was in high school.

Either way, I feel like it's a Fun style to bring to Parties. I was drawing new Caricatures of people that I previously drew (posted elsewhere on this blog):

Btw, I did No Predraw. And I didn't even randomly choose the 2nd face to draw in each picture until I was Finished drawing the first one. That's not usually the way I draw. I felt amazed that it worked out.

The comedy just happens. Just as likely with My Fashion Sketches as with my caricatures.

There I was, just a-drawing along, and I (as well as the Guests, of course) kept feeling surprised at the things that happened in the drawings. So much fun. Entertaining. Clean Fun.

I am developing a great Happy Party style for my Caricatures. In transition, and feeling quite Successful. Here's today's journey. I was making New Caricatures based on photos of people that I previously Caricatured. btw, the people that I put together in today's drawings don't necessarily know each other. I just chose photos at random ~ to practice Group Caricatures:

Ready to jump in. I remembered how great it felt for the pictures to just pour out for the past few days. No Predraw. But I didn't think about the size for the first face I drew. I didn't leave room for the other two that I planned to put into the picture. Aghk. I couldn't wait to finish. Pushing it. I'm just going to

Tried it again. Planning to size them 'evenly. But egads, What happened here:

Sized evenly. Decent Caricatures. But meaningless empty space on the paper:

This time, I gave in to a Predraw. Just a Litl bit of a Predraw:

I really should call it a night. But once more. One more group Caricature. It came out alright:

Tried it Again. I love it! This is the New Style I want to develop. Such a happy picture. If these people happened to be a family, they would have loved to have such a unique picture:

I have transitioned. I can develop this new style.

But how to apply today's studies to my Party Performance?

I'm figuring that I would Not use a predraw for One Or Two Faces on a page. But I Would use that slight amount of placement predraw for Three Or More Faces on a page.

and of course, it would be best if I draw in the style that is working at that moment. Gotta be in a Zone to draw well. If I'm hoping to use this style when I'm 'On', perhaps it would be a good idea to do a few warm-up pictures Before I go in to an Event.
