Getting back into my regular Exaggerated Caricatures tonight. Staying afloat.

I randomly chose a couple of photographs from my website to use as Reference material. Turned out that I could still come up with something else ~ even though I felt like I had drawn Perfect Caricatures at the Parties.

I'm wondering if there's an unending amount of different things we can do for each face. An unending amount of different decisions we can make each time. We're affected by different things that we see when we're drawing live, and we're affected by different things going on in our studies when we're drawing on our time off.

The people didn't look any different tonight, but I was able to come up with different ideas since I wanted to draw something different. I was probably affected by the desire to please the Guests when I was drawing at the Party. And I was probably affected by my current interest in drawing the weights of objects lately. I didn't set out to do that. But I think that's what I'm seeing in my drawings for the past few days

Hi! Exercising switching between Tame and Exaggerated Caricatures tonight. I used some Prom pictures that I found on the web as references.

I did very well with the switching tonight. I had a good feel for both approaches. But I did all the Tame Caricatures first. And Then I did all the Exaggerated Caricatures. Some day perhaps I will practice switching back and forth each time.

CRAPITIOLIOS!! I feel like I got a new handle on clarifying my different approaches for Tame Caricatures or Exaggerated Caricatures, and I figured that I'd best start checking it out with the one that just wasn't getting drawn quite Tame last night. But the reference photo was very Small ~ and that would be a problem with trying out tonight's approach. I make the reference picture Small when I prepare to show it along with the Caricature because I there's only a little bit of space where we see a post ~ and I want to focus more on the Caricature than on the reference photo.

So I went into my Computer's Trash to look for the original (Larger) Reference Photo ~ feeling like it's a needle in a haystack to actually turn up there. Because my Computer's Trash Automatically Empties every 30 days.

Even so, there were Thousands of Photos there in the Trash. I started looking through them. "Hmmmm..... these Caricatures look good," I thought. "I don't know why they're in the Trash. I don't remember posting them." I pulled a few out of the trash. Put them onto my Computer's Desktop.

Oh! it's because the Suffix is MOV instead of JPG. That happens a lot when I mindlessly press the wrong button on my Phone's Camera while Entertaining at an Event. When I get good Reactions, I like to snap a few quick Photos along with the Caricature that I drew.

My phone has Choices for things like Photo, Portrait, MOVIE....

Hmmm..... I wondered if I could just take a Still shot from the Movie. I slid these pictures into PhotoShop.

Oh! Now I remember. I remember why I automatically put all photos that have MOV Suffix (happens if I choose Movie instead of Photo) or AAE Suffix (happens if I use one of those Options for changing the Lighting) or an E before the Image Number (I don't know What that is. DO YOU? ANYBODY?). I feel uncomfortable about it, but I Think the AAE's and the E-before the Image Number pictures are Duplicates that I would also have in my main list of JPG's. And I thought Oh the MOV's that I take by mistake ~ result in me just losing the opportunity to use SO MANY PICTURES. These really looked intriguing. Hundreds of them here just in This Month's Trash??

I slid a couple of the MOV's into PhotoShop. Yes ~ I remember ~ I just see a big Green Rectangle instead of an Image Or a Movie. Gone. The pictures are Gone.

But tonight I figured out a way to make even more work for me. I could Open (thereby Enlarging) each MOV on the Desktop, take a Screenshot, and Slide the Screenshot into PhotoShop. So I can make my usual posts of my Caricature with a little Reference Picture in the Corner.

I'm probably not going to do all that. I hope I don't make mistakes when I snap those Quick Photos

I wanted to feel more in control of whether I'm drawing Exaggerated Caricatures Or Tame Caricatures. There usually isn't enough time to Control anything during a Party, but I felt like I might have a little more Control if I look into it on my Time Off.

So I took a few photos at random from other posts on this website. Even though the Caricatures that I had drawn At the Events were fine, yes very fine, I wanted to see what would happen if I decided ahead of time whether to draw Tamely or Exaggerated. I'm posting them here so I can see them all together and try to make sense out of the experience:

Hmmmm... What I see from this experience is that it's all good. As long as I'm seriously into the drawing, it's interesting to see what comes out. And hmmmm... I would like to check out furtherly exaggerating stuff. Like ~ don't stop at one or two exaggerations, but exaggerate Everything. Not sure how that would go over at an Event though. I feel like people usually want to see something that looks something like a Face when I'm hired to draw 'Faces' lol. Aaaannndd... perhaps to dull down even more with the Tame Caricatures. Like how simple/garbage can I take it to ~ and Then to figure out how to turn That into a good picture from That point. It's all good. I love Artwork. I love to see what I can do in a picture.

Aaaaand... I was reminded about how much I love to draw on the IPad. I hope to play around with That some more too.

Post Script ~ Or am I? Am I hired to draw Faces? Oooor, and this is what it really is ~ I am hired to draw Caricatures. Just because some people think that 'Caricatures' means 'Faces' doesn't make it true.
